Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at First Union Presbyterian Church in Luling. A religious service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling. He is survived by his first wife, Beverly Barre Vial; sons, David J., Stephen O., J. Kenneth, L. Andre and D. Frederick Vial, M.D.; daughters, M. Monica V. Benson, M.D., Lisa V. Prosser, Beverly V. Chester, Francesca Vial, Alicia Vial and Christina Vial; brother, Leon C. Vial III; 21 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Alice Grizzaffi Vial; parents, Leon C. Vial Jr. and Lucile Lowe Vial; son, Leon P. Vial. He was a member of St. Charles Masonic Lodge No. 445, Consistory and Jerusalem Temple and was St. Charles Parish coroner since 1967. Donations to the American Cancer Society of St. Andrews Episcopal Church are preferred. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
