Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. The Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be in the Young Men Benevolent Association Cemetery at Lafourche Crossing. He is survived by his wife, Olivia Thomas Triggs of Thibodaux; son, James Triggs Jr., of Houma; daughters, Carolyn Triggs Truxillo of Thibodaux, and Rose Gant of Raceland; sisters, Clara Triggs of Raceland, Neoma Coleman of New Orleans, Carrie Shelby and Theresa Boyd both of Thibodaux; he is also survived by eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Frances Allen Triggs; daughter Joyce Triggs Boyd; brothers, Andrew, Joseph, Sidney, and Elijah Triggs Jr; sisters, Rosetta Triggs Folse, Albertha Triggs, and Ida Coleman. He was a member of Third Zion Baptist Church. He retired from Soloco Construction. Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
