John McCulla

John Donald McCulla Sr., 84, a native of Thibodaux, former resident of New 
Orleans and resident of Baton Rouge, died at 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004.

Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. to noon at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. 
George Drive, Baton Rouge.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday. Burial will be 
at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Meyer McCulla; sons: John Jr., "Johnny", 
James "Jimmy" and Mark McCulla; daughters: Kathleen M. Hoffmann, Barbara M. 
Guidry and Jane M. Cade; sisters, Marion M. Dougherty and Jane M. Riviere; and 
13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gertrude McCulla; and 
brother Francis McCulla.

He was employed by Shell Oil Co. in New Orleans for 25 years. He then worked for 
Loyola University of New Orleans and retired after 16 years of service.
