Kathleen Hester

Kathleen Powell Hester, 82, a native of Barberton, Ohio, and resident of 
Thibodaux, died Sept. 24, 2004.

Visitation will be 6 to 8:30 p.m. today at Thibodaux Funeral Home in Thibodaux. 
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Crematory in 
Crowley.

She is survived by her husband, Dale R. Hester; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy 
and James Grant, Joan and Dale Melancon; and grandchidlren, Jennifer Grant, Alex 
and Gretchen Melancon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel Powell; and sister, 
Helen Powell Gommer.

She was a registered nurse and worked at Cornel Infirmary in Ithaca, N.Y. before 
her marriage. She worked at Portland General Hospital in Portland, Maine. Later 
she obtained bachelor's and master's degrees. She retired from the Lafourche 
Parish School system in 1985. She was a former resident of Crowley for 14 years.

Thibodaux Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
