A religious service was held at 11 a.m. today at St. Mark Baptist Church in Labadieville, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Jeanette Waller Knox of Labadieville; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Linda Knox; a niece he raised, Patricia Waller of Houma; sisters, Ada Knox of McComb, Miss., and Eula Gordon of Jackson, Miss.; grandchildren, Genese and Hilliary Knox of Labadieville; godchildren, Marian, Germaine, Joyce Ann and Geneva; nine sisters- in-law; seven brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jennie A. and Earl Knox; son, Oscar Knox Jr.; five brothers; and four sisters. He was a dedicated deacon at his church and a member of the Consolidated Deacons Alliance of Thibodaux. He was a retired groundskeeper at Bayou Golf Course in Napoleonville.
