Orgeron Jr., 83, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Belle Chase, died at 9:30 a.m. July 5, 2005. Visitation will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Belle Chasse. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marie Boudreaux Orgeron; children, Deardra Orgeron, Virginia Bayhi, Sylvia Langlinais, Marsha Crawford, Karen Gulotta, Denise Perez, Jennifer Barnard, Robert Orgeron and Ruby Frances Renegar; sisters, Rita Guillot and Doris LeBoeuf; brother, Chester Orgeron; sisters-in-law, Betty Thomas and Hilda Orgeron; 24 grandchildren; and 16 great- grandchildren. He was active in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church as an usher, reader and CCD teacher. He received the St. Louis Medal by his archdiocese. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army, held the position of commander of American Legion Bayhi Post No. 329 and a former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus No. 6357. He was a member of AARP and a former member of Ochsner APHEAS and St. Vincent DePaul Group. He was the supervisor for office engineering for LP &L/Entergy West Bank Division.
