The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ================================ July 12. 2005 11:28AM Bonnie Morvant Bonnie Jean Gomez Morvant, 54, a native of Thibodaux and resident of St. Amant, died July 8, 2005. A private memorial service will be held in Gonzales, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. She is survived by her husband, Camille A. Morvant II; parents, Ivan Gomez and Grace Jean Vaughn; daughter Melissa M. Morvant; son Camille "Trey" Morvant II; and brother Ken Gomez. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Bonnie and Samuel Johnson. She was a 1968 graduate of Thibodaux High School and a 1973 graduate of Nicholls State University. She was a former teacher, having taught at Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary School in Baton Rouge and St. Charles Elementary in Lafourche Parish. She was an active volunteer at E.D. White Catholic High School and was one of the founding members of Mary's Mothers Committee. She was a tape minister for the Bayou River Magnificat and active in church ministries. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary's Mothers Committee of the Mother's Club of E.D. White Catholic High School, 555 Cardinal Dr., Thibodaux, LA, 70301. Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
