Hidalgo, 50, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Hazlehurst, Miss., died Wednesday, July 27, 2005. After moving to Hazlehurst, Byron founded a business, Faubourg Lighting Inc., which he poured his heart and soul into and it has become one of the premiere manufacturers of copper lighting in the nation. Byron was an active member in the economic development of Hazlehurst, which he grew to love. He was an active member of Hazlehurst United Methodist Church, president of the Chamber of Commerce, president of the Economic Development of Copiah County and passionately involved in the Lance Armstrong Foundation. His grandparents, Kleibert and Alicia Hidalgo and Alexander and Hazel Morvant, preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Caroline Suzanne Hidalgo; wife, Kathleen Jones Hidalgo; stepsons Michael Garner Berry and his wife, Molly, and William Turner Berry; parents, Roland and Joyce Morvant Hidalgo; brother Aaron Hidalgo and his wife, Celeste; sisters Lisa Hidalgo Folse and her husband, Todd Folse, and Jamie Hidalgo Verdun and her husband, Robert Verdun; and nieces Cierra and Lesley Hidalgo and Ainsley Verdun; and nephew Kolbe Verdun. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Stringer Family Funeral Service in Hazlehurst. A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church of Hazlehurst.
