The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ================================ July 03. 2005 10:47PM (NOTE: This file was listed as 4 Jul 2004 on WWW) Carl Duplantis Sr. [Photo] Carl "Magoo" Duplantis Sr., 62, a native of Bayou Cane and resident of Houma, died at 4:45 a.m. July 1, 2005 Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Houma. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at the church. He is survived by his wife, Margie K. Duplantis; mother, Adele Freeman Duplantis; sons, Carl Joseph Jr., Cody John and Casey Jason Duplantis; brothers, Clayton, Wilbert Jr., Marshall and Malcolm Duplantis; sisters, Norma Jean Breaux and Mona Lee Wiemann; and grandchildren, Carlie Renee and Kate Elizabeth Duplantis. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbert Paul Duplantis. He was Catholic and a member of the United Veterans League and Disabled American Veterans and served in the 82nd Airborne Infantry. He was an avid fisherman, loved woodworking and worked in carpentry and comedy. Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
