Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. today at Church of the Way Presbyterian, 250 South Foster Drive, Baton Rouge. A religious service will be held at 2 p.m. today at the church, with burial with military honors at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge. He is survived by his wife Lolette B. Robert; daughter and son-in-law, Lettye and Adrian Harris of Baton Rouge; son and daughter-in-law Dr. John Lewis Robert Jr. and Claire Robert of Lafayette; grandchildren Leslie Harris LaBorde and husband Glen of Baton Rouge, John Lewis Robert III of New Orleans and Elizabeth Claire Robert of New Orleans; and great-granddaughter Mignon Eloise LaBorde. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie J. and Clara H. Robert; and brother James Robert. He was a 1938 graduate of Cheneyville High School and was a member of the Raceland Presbyterian Church and attended Church of the Way Presbyterian. He was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Pearl Harbor Survivor Association. He family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Babin, Dr. James Krupala, Dr. Robert Fields, Hospice of Baton Rouge and caregivers Cynthia Hennessy and Albertine Cavalier. Memorial donations can be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge, Hospice of Baton Rouge or Church of the Way Presbyterian. Rabenhorst Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
