Visitation will be from 9 to funeral time Thursday at Morning Star Baptist Church on Johnson Ridge. The religious service will be held at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in the Blue Lilly Cemetery on Johnson Ridge. He is survived by son Casey Brooks, of Thibodaux; stepsons Glenn Marts Sr., Herman Myles, Bronson Myles and Terrance Brooks, all of Thibodaux; stepdaughters Ann Williams and Ladon Marts of Gray, Linda Tillman of Houma, Amanda Brooks, Kirsten Brooks and Cordeal Spotts of Thibodaux; sister Annabelle Brooks of Thibodaux; and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcel and Mary C. Brooks; second wife, Alma Brooks; brothers Oscar Hebert, John Brooks, Joe Brooks and James Brooks; sisters Rosemary James and Ida Mae Brooks; and grandparents Verna and Lou Ida Cooper. He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing. Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
