Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church Life Center in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church center, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his wife, Marianna Staehle Marcello; sons and daughters-in-law C.J. and Tracey Marcello, Steven and LieAnn Marcello and Bill and Noreen Marcello; daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Joe Roppolo; sisters Mary Raynal and Bessie Rita McIntire; grandchildren Toni Brinker, Marianna and Amy Roppolo, Blake, Meghan, Christy, Carli, Justin and Christopher Marcello; and great- grandchildren Ben and Lily Brinker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Blanche Rizzo Marcello; and brothers Sam, Benny and Johnny Marcello. He received his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Texas A and M in 1943. He was practicing in Alexandria, then Raceland and finally in Thibodaux. He was a member of the American Veterinary Association and Louisiana Veterinary Association. He was at Lafourche Parish Veterinary until his retirement. He was a member of the Lion's Clubs, and received the Outstanding Lion's Club award twice. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and former present of St. Vincent de Paul. He was the head usher at St. Joseph Co-cathedral. He was a volunteer fireman and past president of the Bayou Country Club. He loved animals, especially his cats. He liked to hunt, fish and play golf. He loved to pick flowers and given them to his friends. He loved and was devoted to his family, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Donations to Alzheimers Association for Treatment and Research, 1040 Calhoun, St., New Orleans, LA 70118 are preferred. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
