Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home Chapel, with burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Dodge Cotton of Ferriday; sons Melvin Stutes of Monterey and Ronnie Stutes of Tennessee; daughter Melba Tate of Ferriday; sisters Rita Landry of Marrero and Gloria Chaisson; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hattie Lirette Cotton; brothers Norris and Horace Cotton; and sister Georginia Cotton. He was a self-employed seafood wholesaler. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
