Raphael Rabalais					[Photo]

Raphael Joseph Rabalais, a native of Moreauville and a 45 year employee of 
Chevron Corp., passed away on Aug. 14, 2005, in Thibodaux at the age of 85.

He was a direct descendent of Jean Baptiste Rabalay, one of the earliest French 
colonists in Louisiana.

He is survived by his beloved spouse Mildred Behrens Rabalais, and her children 
Byron Behrens, Alice Behrens Snider Miller, Elizabeth Behrens Nagle and Rosemary 
Behrens; her 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his 
loving children, Dr. Philip D. Rabalais, Raphael J. Rabalais Jr., Juanita 
Rabalais Le Blanc and Dorothy Rabalais Landry; his 11 grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Leon Rabalais and Myrtle Rabalais 
Couvillion.

He was preceded in death in 1995 by his beloved spouse of 53 years, Erexine 
Brumfield Rabalais; his parents, Gilmore Jules Rabalais and Verdie Coco 
Rabalais; and his brother Mark Rabalais. Also preceded in death by George 
Behrens, son of Mildred Behrens Rabalais.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Lake Lawn Metairie 
Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. (in Metairie Cemetery) from 12:00 p.m. 
until 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to St. Joseph Hospice of 
Bayou Region, L.L.C., 904 Canal Blvd., Thibodaux, LA 70301.
