Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his daughters Gwendolyn D. Daggs, Bernita "Beedy" D. Washington, Juanita "Wanda" D. Hawkins, Vanessa A. Smith, and Thelma J. Brown, all of Thibodaux; sons Edward C. Davis and Jonathan Smith of Thibodaux and Carlon Cayette of Gonzales; sisters Jacqueline D. Thomas of Houma, Gaynell Davis of Thibodaux, Brenda D. Richard and JoAnne Davis of Gray; brother Charles Davis of Thibodaux; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores H. Davis; parents, Willie Sr. and Patsy Davis; sister Marion D. Burke; and brothers Jerry and Wilbert Davis. He was a member of Moses Baptist Church. He served on the Civil Service Board. His hobbies included fishing. Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
