Charles "Charlie" Brown, 77, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Avondale died 
at 7:55 a.m. Sept. 18, 2005.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor 
in Chackbay. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at 
the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Gerdie Rose Brown; son, William Brown and wife, Ruth 
Ann Brown; daughter, Rose Griffith, and husband, James Griffith; a sister, 
Mildred Lawson; grandchildren, Brenda Newfield and Cynthia Roberson; two step-
grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Araentine Rodrigue Brown; 
brothers, Sidney, Percy and Andrew Brown; and sisters, Velma Breaux and Gertie 
Thibodeaux.

Donations to the American Cancer Society are preferred.
