Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. Mass will be at noon Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Duet Bruce; three sons, Nicholas Bruce, Simon Bruce and Gary John Bruce Jr.; one brother, Luxton Bruce and wife, Diane; one sister, Janet Baudoin; his mother and father-in-law, Loretta Duet and Eroy Duet; six sisters-in-law, Joyce Bruce, Susan Duet, Cathy Rebstock and husband, Bubba, Charlene Terrebonne, Connie Brady and Renetta DeRosia and husband, Daniel; and numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elva Vegas Bruce; and one brother, Jacob Bruce. He loved spending time with his family and watching his boys participate in sports activities. He loved to cook and eat. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
