Louisa Rebstock Orgeron 93, a Cajun lady of the highest degree, died from complications of cancer this past Sunday evening. During her life on earth, she was known as Miss Bea, a friend to everyone she met. A life dedicated to her family, she was known to us simply as MaMa, someone we could always count on for a good word, smile, hug and an occasional $20 if she thought we weren't eating enough. Louisa was born to Armand and Amalie Rebstock, Sept. 4, 1912, one of seven children, in Leeville. She married Joseph Orgeron on June 14, 1932, beginning a 60 year love story they shared with their son Teddy John, daughter-in-law Betty Ann, three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. MaMa Bea was an accomplished horticulturist, Cajun chef, seamstress and senior Olympian. She took pride in knowing that at age 92, she could still bring home the gold. Her hobbies included crocheting, collecting family photos and spending time with her friends at the Galliano Senior Citizens Center, Louisa leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, handed down to her son Teddy John Orgeron and daughter-in-law Betty Chabert Orgeron; three devoted grandchildren and their spouses, Kerry O. Cheramie and husband Rod, Stacey O. Galjour and husband Corey, Corey J. Orgeron and wife Brandee; and ten great grandchildren, Caitlyn Gaijour, Brandon Cheramie, Blaine Cheramie, Joseph Orgeron, Lydia Orgeron, Parker Galjour, Luke Cberamie, Matthew Cheramie, Carter Galjour and Teddy Jude Orgeron. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded into heaven by her husband Joe Orgeron, parents Armand and Amalie Rebstock, Brothers Sidney, Rosalus, and George Rebstock, and sisters Rosite R Guilbeau and Georgette R Esponge. Memorial services were held today at St. Joseph's Church in Galliano and she will be laid to eternal rest next to her husband in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of South Louisiana are preferred. Falgout Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
