Margarette St. John

Margarette "Mell" Bergeron St. John, 91, a native of Little Caillou and a 
resident of Houma, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until funeral time at 
Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial in 
St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by one son, James E. "Jimmy" St. John of Houma; three daughters, 
Sylvia Parks, Gloria King, Deborah "Debbie" Saadi of Houma; one brother, Leo 
Bergeron of Houma; and three sisters, Gladys B. Dennis, Theresa "Tee" Guidry of 
Houma and Stella Suchanek of Slidell; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 
and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Osie "Bill" St. John; parents, Albert 
Joseph Bergeron and Clorance Chauvin Bergeron; one son, William "Slugger" St. 
John; one brother, Charles F. Bergeron; and one sister, Marie Virginia "Jenny" 
Pontiff.

She was a homemaker.
