Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home parlor and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beulah Ordogne Roger; sons and daughters-in-law, Wallace Roger Jr. of Thibodaux, Robert "Ro Bear" and Cathy Roger of Broussard, Barry Roger of Lafayette, Gregory "Greg" Roger of St. Paul, Minn., and Gerard C. and Leah Roger of Abbeville; daughter Sheila Roger of Shreveport; brothers Noland and Peter Roger; sisters Flora R. Guillot and Unna R. Borne; grandchildren, James "Jim Bo" Bodenheimer of Shreverport, Becky Beach of Longview, Texas, Brett, Mathew and Nathan Roger, all of Thibodaux, Lauren and Robbie Roger, both of Broussard, Luke and Jude Roger, both of Abbeville; great grandchildren Ben, Hannah Grace, Andrew, Katy, Sherry Ann and John Mark Beach of Longview, Braden and Drey'ton Roger, both of Thibodaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Julia LeRay Roger; brothers Freddie and John Roger; sisters Lena R. Tregre, Clothilde R. Richard, Laura R. LeBlanc and Beatrice R. Lajaunie Peltier. He retired after 32 years as a driller and tool pusher from Delta Drilling Co. His hobbies were gardening and hunting. He was a Knight of Columbus conical 114 third degree. He enjoyed working KC Thursday night bingo. He was a veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart medal. Donations to the American Cancer Association, American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association are preferred. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
