Cantrelle Sr., 68, a native and resident of Larose, died at 5:10 p.m. Oct. 19, 2005. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today and 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the KC Hall in Larose. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Larose, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Earline Poche Cantrelle; sons Armojen John Cantrelle Jr., Peter and David Cantrelle; daughters Claudine C. Dufrene, Evelyn C. Loftin and Valerie C. Lussier; brothers Earl, Anthony and Michael Cantrelle; sisters Marie C. Allemand and Loretta C. Foret; 17 grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Claudine Fonseca Cantrelle; brothers Jules, Maurice, Brenton and Benton Cantrelle; and sisters Agnes C. Plaisance, Lorenza C. Bonvillain, Claudine Cantrelle and Brenda Cantrelle. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He was a third-degree Knight of Columbus, member of the Holy Name Society, a eucharistic minister and coordinator of Perpetual Adoration and St. Joseph's Altar at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. He was a retired ocean-going tug captain and commanded tows to West Africa, Europe, the east and west coasts of North America and the oil patch in the Gulf of Mexico. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trawling, LSU and Saints football games. He loved cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
