Leona Holmes

Leona M. Holmes, 82, a native and resident of Paincourtville, died Oct. 5, 2005, 
at her residence.

Dismissal took place at 10 a.m. today at St. Charles Baptist Church in 
Paincourtville, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by sons and spouses Henry Jr. and Deddra Holmes of 
Napoleonville, Ricky Holmes of Klotzville and Gary and Sheila Holmes of 
Plaquemine; daughters Betty Freeman and Gloria Daniels of Houston, Audrey 
McKnight, Leana Jupiter, Brenda Lewis and Marion Williams of Paincourtville and 
Gail Holmes of Denver; brothers Isadore, Clenard and Roland Melancon; sisters 
Octavia Johnson, Everlena Mollere, Diana James and Joyce Hargrove; 39 
grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Holmes Sr.; parents Alice and 
Elphage Melancon Sr.; daughter Alice Holmes; and son Joe Holmes.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville was in charge of 
arrangements.
