Thelma Dufrene

Thelma Matherne Dufrene, 82, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Paradis, 
died at 4:16 p.m. Oct. 8, 2005.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic 
Church in Paradis. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. 
Wednesday at the church, with burial at St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.

She is survived by her husband, Harris Dufrene Sr.; sons Harris Jr. and Brian 
Dufrene; daughter, Karen Russo; brothers George, Lester and Morris Matherne; 
sisters Elma Perrer, Velma Breaux, Bessie Matherne and Betty Champagne; seven 
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hypolite and Marie Clementine 
Matherne; son, Kevin Wayne Dufrene; and brothers Eloie and Eddie Matherne.

Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
