Adela Pierce

Adela Lafont Pierce, 82, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, died at 3 p.m. Nov. 21, 2005.

Visitation will be 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 
Cut Off. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at 
the church, with burial at the church cemetery.

She is survived by her sons Arthur, Curtis, Jessel, Bryant and Patton Pierce; 
daughters Priscilla Trahan and Mona Danos; sisters Julia Picou and Jan Pitre; 15 
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alcee "Tom" Pierce; parents, John Sr. 
and Amelia Mona Duet Lafont; granddaughter Sarah Pierce; brothers John Jr., 
Adam, Julian Sr., Edward "Chico" Hubert Sr. and Ramis Lafont; sisters Felonise 
Eymard and Elise Arabie.

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church.

She loved to read and write prayers. She loved her rose garden, flowers and 
family gatherings.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
