Bourgeois, 78, a native of the St. Charles community and resident of Thibodaux, died at 11:27 p.m. Nov. 8, 2005. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances M. Bourgeois; daughters and son-in-law Carleen "Keenie" B. Babin, Theresa B. and James Biondo; sister Beatrice "Tiet" Mire; and grandchildren Dester II, Celese and Mary Grace Babin; and step- grandchild Al Maclean. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline N. Bourgeois; parents, Paul and Corinne B. Bourgeois. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a retired Lafourche Parish deputy and a retired Lafourche Parish school bus driver. He served as constable for the second justice of the peace court Wards 3, 7 and 11 for 30 years. He was a former member of the Lafourche Parish Basin Levee Board and served as director of the St. Charles Community recreation program. He was a member of American Legion Post 349, VFW 3665 and Woodmen of the World.
