Chestnoia Diggs

Chestnoia Diggs, 98, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Gibson, died Nov. 22, 2005.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in 
Gibson. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with 
burial at St. James Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter Josephine Garrett of Gibson; 16 grandchildren; 
30 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Diggs; parents, Odele and Frank 
Mitchell; son Wellington Diggs; brothers Joseph and Bobby Mitchell; sisters 
Carrie Smith, Louise Beamon and Alice Hayes.

She was a member of the St. James Baptist Church, Golden Leaf Chapter No. 107 
OES, Louisiana Southern Baptist Association of Fifth District Women's Auxiliary, 
president of Home Mission Department of St. James Baptist Church.

Her hobbies were traveling and serving God.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
