The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ================================ November 17. 2005 12:16PM Dorothy Seal [Photo] Dorothy White Seal, 80, a native of Chico, Calif., and resident of Thibodaux, died at 7:10 a.m. Nov. 15, 2005. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. She will be cremated. She is survived by her husband, J.R. Seal; sons and daughter-in-law Stuart Seal, Stephen and Faye Seal; daughter and son-in-law Sheral and Ed Guthrie; grandchildren Yancey Seal, Katie Aucoin and husband Clint, Maris Richard and husband Donald, Jessie Guthrie, Rebecca Seal, Amy Seal, Erin Guthrie and Betsy Seal; and great-grandchildren Peyton Richard and Brinkley Seal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Katherine Bowe White; son John Seal; brothers Melvin and Jimmy White; and sisters Mary Clark and Ellen Taylor. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Co-cathedral in Thibodaux. She enjoyed gardening, needle work and walking. She worked in medical records at St. Joseph Hospital for many years. She was known for her fashion sense as a clerk at Bonnie's Dress Shop. Following her retirement, she volunteered at local nursing homes and for hospice. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation to a community hospice program is appreciated. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
