Eva Dufrene						[Photo]

Eva Champagne Dufrene, 96, a native and resident of Gheens, died at 3:43 a.m. 
Nov. 9, 2005.

Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. today and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony 
Catholic Church in Gheens. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 
a.m. Friday at the church, with burial at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport.

She is survived by her sons, Herman, Edmond, Harold, Howard and Jesse Dufrene 
Jr.; daughters Marion Walton, Mona Fonseca and Janet Chiasson; 23 grandchildren; 
32 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Anthony Dufrene Sr.; parents 
Albert and Elmire Savoie Champagne; brothers Thomas, Wickless, Gustave "Gus" and 
Herbert Champagne; sisters Leontine Dufrene, Gertie Boudreaux and Elizabeth 
Schaubhut; and one grandchild.

She was a member of the St. Anthony Ladies Altar Society.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
