Burrell, 87, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died Oct. 26, 2005. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. She is survived by her daughters Lynn B. Jackson, Martha B. Jones, and June B. Price of Thibodaux and Annie B. Milline of Decatur, Ga.; sons James S. Burrell Sr of San Francisco and Raymond Burrell of Decatur, Ga.; Johnel Johnson, a devoted nephew she raised as a son; sisters Georgette Johnson of Thibodaux and Mercedes W. Brown and Samantha Williams of Baton Rouge; devoted friend Martha Lee of Thibodaux; and devoted loved ones Bobbie Hamilton, Alvis and Debra Washington and Johnny Hamilton; 16 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Burrell Sr.; parents Alphonse and Anna Pharagood Williams; sons Johnny Burrell Jr., and Frank D. Burrell; sisters Thelma Williams, Alma Shanklin, Theresa W. Canter, and Omae W. Richardson; brothers Herman William and John C. Williams; and one granddaughter. Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
