Visitation will be 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in St. James. A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his son Victor J. Nelson Jr.; daughters Berita Nelson Leonard and Nettle Faye Speak; brothers Norward Nelson and Lionel Nelson Sr.; devoted niece Sandra Lewis; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Eunice Winchester Nelson; parents Gus and Estelle Nelson; son Andrew J. Nelson; brothers Paul, Lawrence, Louis and Raymond Nelson; and sisters Hilda Harris, Louvenia Scott, Clogia Branch and Josephine Nelson. There will be a repast following services at St. James Catholic Church Hall. Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville is in charge of arrangements.
