The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ================================ November 10. 2005 11:48AM Winnie Lake [Photo] Winnie Elizabeth Davidson Lake, 89, a native of Seagoville, Texas, former resident of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died at 7 p.m. Nov. 8, 2005. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. A religious service will be held at noon Friday at the funeral home chapel, with burial at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna with graveside prayers at 2 p.m. She is survived by her sons, William "Billy" Lake of Houma; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry "Lefty" Lake; parents, Wade Hampton and Lillie Lee Moores Lake; son John Allen Lake. She was a very loving and thoughtful mother and grandmother who was always there to help. She was a member of the New Orleans Art Association, charter member of Fleur-de- lis Garden Club for 40 years and twice the recipient of the woman of the year honors. She was an artist in oil and china paintings, talented in silk florals and many more arts and crafts. She was known and loved by many including friends and family who will miss her very much and will always be remembered. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
