Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Baptist Church in Thibodaux. A religious service will be at 11:00 a.m Saturday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. She is survived by her daughters, Rose Williams, Doris Riney and Kathleen McCormick of Thibodaux; stepdaughters, Barbara Reed Brown of Schriever, Janet Reed Alcorn and Patricia Reed Williams of Thibodaux; sons, Lawrence Francis of Thibodaux, Tom Francis of Lockport, and James Francis of Labadieville; stepsons, Michael, David, and Stanley Reed, all of Thibodaux; sisters, Ruby Lee Neal, and Effie Price of Thibodaux and Lula Mae Jackson of Luling; brothers, Bishop Ervin Mitchell of Midland, Texas, Ernest Joseph of New Orleans, and Lloyd Thomas of Alexandria; 14 grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reed; parents, Otto and Corrine Francis; son, Melvin Francis, stepson, Calvin Reed; sister, Joyce Joseph; brothers, Silas, Willie, Royal, and Charley Francis; and great-grandchild, Lisa Annie McCormick. She was a member of St. Peter Baptist Church, and served on the Usher Board, and the Deaconess Board. Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
