Carl Schaff, 90, a native of Donaldsonville and resident of Paincourtville, died at 6:20 p.m. April 18, 2005. Visitation will be 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Landry's Funeral Home in Napoleonville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, H. Carl Jr. and Linda Mitchell Schaff, John C. and Mary Rivere Schaff; Michael E. and David J. Schaff; daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and John Adams, Melanie and Randy Miller; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eliska "Billie" Theriot Schaff; parents, Henry Tobias Schaff and Louise Wilde; daughters, Annette Schaff Lee; daughter- in-law, Marilyn Landry Schaff; brother-in-law, Wilfred Price; sister, Lois Schaff Price; granddaughter, Carla Schaff. He was a Man of Manressa, a member of American Legion 40 and 8; Knight of Columbus Fourth Degree, a member of the Marines reserve and a member of the Seabees, He was a veteran of World War II and served in North Africa, the Italian invasian and the Pacific Theater. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Donations to Manressa, Retreat House in Convent or the St. Joseph Hospice, 905 Canal Blvd., Thibodaux, LA 70301 are preferred.
