Melvin Bias

Melvin "Soul" Bias, 59, a native of Napoleonville and resident of Thibodaux, died 
April 14, 2005.

A religious service was held at 11 a.m. today at St. John Baptist Church in 
Napoleonville, with burial at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Audrella Thompson; daughters, Crystal and Deirdre 
Thompson of Thibodaux; son, Orlando Thompson of Thibodaux; sister, Barbara 
Miller of Napoleonville; brothers, Albert and James Bias Jr. of Napoleonville 
and Howard Bias of New Orleans; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Classie and James Bias Sr.

He enjoyed helping others and cooking.

He was a former employee of Waste Management.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
