Abel Usey Sr.

Abel Joseph Usey Sr., 75, a native of Schriever and resident of Thibodaux, died 
at 1:20 a.m. Feb. 5, 2005.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Genevieve 
Church in Thibodaux, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Marquerite Clement Usey; sons, Jude Usey and his 
wife, Stacy, and Abel Usey Jr. and his wife, Rachel; daughters, Carla Swart and 
her husband, Shane, Tedi and Ali Usey, and Kyna Terrio; brothers, Arlen, Chester 
and Ivy Usey; sisters, Shirley Blanchard, Sherry Waguespack and Patsy Thibodaux; 
grandchildren, Bart Matis and Marley, Morgan and Mason Usey; great-
grandchildren, Mallory and Evan Matis; and step-grandchildren, Heather Martinez, 
and Jay and Erin Swart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel Nelson and Ausolite Thibodaux 
Usey; and brothers, Raynard Usey Sr. and Donald Usey.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
