Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at Landry's Funeral Home and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his wife, Miriam Aupied Acosta; son and daughter-in-law, Carroll "Sammy" Jr. and Charlotte Knoblock Acosta; daughters and sons-in-law, Christine A. and Allen Tabor Jr.; Susan A. and Clifford Borne Jr. and Patti A. and Philip Knoblock; brothers, Lynn, Roland and Homer Acosta; sisters, Ruby A. Kraemer, Margie A. Himel and Joan Rose A. Daigle; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Sr. and Judith Bergeron Acosta; brothers, Claude Acosta and Clarence Acosta Jr.; sisters, Pamela Acosta, Marie Louise Acosta Bernard and Esther Acosta Trosclair; and great-grandchild, Maria Elizabeth Johnston. He was a retired welder from Thompson Machinery, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW and a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He loved music and spending time with his family. Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
