Edna Martinez

Edna Marie Bertrand Martinez, 75, a native of Crowley and resident of Thibodaux, 
died Feb. 7, 2005.

Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 9 a.m. to 
funeral time Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chackbay. A Mass of 
Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial 
in St. Joseph Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, George Martinez; son, James L. Strother Jr.; 
daughter, Eulalie "Lou" A. Gaspard; brother, Velia Bertrand Jr.; sisters, Una 
Henry and Betty Langford; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Velia and Elzina Abshire Bertrand; 
brothers, Robert and James Bertrand.

Donations for Masses are preferred.

Landry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
