Benjamin, 91, a native and resident of Belle Rose, died Feb. 21, 2005. Visitation will be 2 to 4:30 p.m. today at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at First Israel Baptist Church in Belle Alliance. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Benjamin of Belle Rose; sons Henry Jr. of Orangeburg, S.C., Samuel Benjamin of Belle Rose, and Ronnie Benjamin of Charleston, S.C.; and 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Benjamin; parents, Melvina and Henry Benjamin Sr.; daughter Jessie Benjamin; sister Willie Mae Booker; and brothers Wesley, Edward and Ben Benjamin. He was a senior deacon at First Israel Baptist Church. Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville is in charge of arrangements.
