Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Co-cathedral in Thibodaux. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. He is survived by his wife, Eola Tabor Pitre; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Linda Pitre of Lockport and Tommy Pitre of Thibodaux; brother and sister-in- law, Norman "Poney" and Corine Pitre of Raceland; grandchildren and their spouses, Tommy Jr. and Angie T. Pitre, Brandon and Tanya G. Pitre, Niki and Wally Naquin and Shaddy Pitre; great-grandchildren, Dustin Pitre, Brett and Beau Naquin and Jack and Eli Pitre. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Sr. and Amelia Aupied Pitre; grandson, Kevin Pitre; brother, Lawrence Pitre Jr.; and sisters, Florence Waguespack and Solange Orgeron. He was a member of the American Legion Post 11 and 40/8, a member of the Woodmen of the World, retired from Freeport McMoran and was a Lafourche Parish food stamp deputy for eight years. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
