Christopher "Chris" James Babin, 27, a native and resident of Houma, died Jan. 6, 2005. Visitation will be 4 to 10 p.m. Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at First United Pentecostal Church on South Hollywood Road in Houma. A religious service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Pentecostal Church. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Manzanares Babin of Houma; parents, Richard James Babin and Charlotte Ann Robichaux Babin of Houma; son, Mikhail Christopher Babin of Houma; stepsons, Dillon Dedan Bertiner Pommells and Dishon Daylan Pommels of Belize; stepdaughter, Dascha Delys Pommells of Belize; and sister, Alice Kay Babin of Houma. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbert J. and Audette Justine Babin and Sydney and Beatrice Robichaux; and an uncle, Fredrick Babin, a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Louisiana National Guard and First United Pentecostal Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
