Smith, 77, a native of Cut Off and resident of Galliano, died at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 12, 2005. Visitation will be 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in Hebert Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise P. Smith; sons, Gary Smith and Robbie Smith and his wife, Sheila; daughter, Dinah S. Allemand and husband, Randy; brothers, Weston and Russell Smith; sisters, Thelma Galjour, Dolores Curole, Alma Adams, Amelia Rebstock, Janet Triche and Rosita Triche; grandchildren, Lance and Sadie Allemand and Alanna and Kendall Smith; and great-granddaughter, Hilary Allemand. He was preceded in death by his parents, Preslich and Lionelle Duet Smith. He was a World War II veteran and a member of VFW Gros-Guidry Post and the American Legion. He was a commercial fisherman. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
