Ernest Matthews					[Photo]

Ernest J. Matthews Sr., 56, a native of Marrero and resident of Napoleonville, 
died Jan. 23, 2005.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church in 
Napoleonville. The religious service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the 
church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Clay Matthews of Napoleonville; mother, Hester 
Moton of New Orleans; sons, Ashley and Warren Verrett of Thibodaux, Stanley 
Verrett of Napoleonville and Ernest Matthews Jr. of New Orleans; sisters, 
Antoinet Singleton of New Orleans, Linda Duncan, Joyce Coleman, Lela Rose 
Arcement, Delores Johnson, and Zenoba Cox, all of Thibodaux; brothers, Daniel 
Green, Ronnie Martin and Joseph Martin of New Orleans and Alvin Arcement of 
Thibodaux; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Matthews.

He attended St. Paul Baptist Church.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
