Visitation will be 2 to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the KC Hall in Chauvin. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. -Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, with burial at St. Elie Cemetery. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Connie Charpentier; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Bert Prosperie and Claudette and June Blanchard; brother, Murphy Charpentier; sisters, Flossie Foret, Irene Foret and Azalie Tivet; grandchildren and their spouses, Angela and Melvin Rogers, Penny and Ricky Thibodeaux, Amy and Don Toney, Marla and Ray Ruiz, Ronnie and Angela Blanchard, Rhonda Norbert, Kevin and Nikki Blanchard, Teddy Charpentier, Nicole Charpentier and Kurt Charpentier; and great-grandchildren, Mandy Rogers, Andrea Rogers, Regina Thibodaux, Cody Thibodeaux, Ashley Naquin, Johnette Nauin, Rhett Ruiz, Malorie Ruiz, Dylan Norberg, Jace Norbert, Payton Blanchard and Teddy Charpentier Jr.. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Charpentiers; parents, Jean and Elda Charpentier; brother, Claude Charpentier; sister, Jeanne Lapeyrouse; and granddaughter, Macie Lyn Blanchard. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW and Ward 7 Citizens Club. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
