The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ================================ January 17. 2005 3:30PM Ludwig Candies [Photo] Ludwig "Doc" Paul Candies, 101, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Raceland, died at 8 p.m. Jan. 14, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Autin Candies; son, L.T. Candies; daughters, Nelda Candies, Patricia Candies Daigle and Connie Candies Breaux; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Candies and Lena Christen Candies; son, Richard Candies; brothers, Gus, Nick, Otto Sr. and Frank Candies; and two grandchildren. He was Catholic and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
