The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ================================ June 02. 2005 12:00AM Allen Brunet Allen "Lal" Joseph Brunet, 58, a native of Pointe-aux-Chenes and resident of Moss Bluff, died at 7:45 a.m. June 1, 2005, after a two-year battle with cancer. Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Pointe- aux-Chenes Fire Station. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Pointe-aux-Chenes, with burial at the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Suzanna Falgout Brunet of Moss Bluff; son, Aaron Brunet of Moss Bluff; daughters, Shannon Brunet Mickey of Watson and Angel Brunet Pellegrin and her husband, John J. Pellegrin, of Montegut; sisters, Mary Jane Dupre' of Pointe-aux-Chenes and Mamie Lyons of Houma; and grandchildren, Karly Allyn Mickey, Anthony Paul LeBouef, Caleb Thomas Mickey and Hailee Alexis Pellegrin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elie and Walterine Dupre Brunet; and brothers, Gary and Douglas Brunet. He was a barge captain with Tetra Technologies Inc. He worked offshore for 35 years, starting out as a rigger and working his way up to barge captain. He was a parishioner of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff. Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
