LeCompte, 82, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 10:55 a.m. June 16, 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Home in Chauvin. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chauvin. He is survived by his wife, Rita Adams LeCompte; son, Kenneth LeCompte; daughters, Monica Whitney and Veronica Dupre; sisters, Eulice Neil, Helen Lirette and Irene Lyons; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Estelle Ledet LeCompte. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of V. F. W. Post 9608 in Chauvin and was a retired boat owner. He enjoyed hunting, oyster fishing and bringing his grandchildren to the camp. Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
