Va., and resident of Des Allemands, died at 7:19 p.m. June 4, 2005. Visitation will be 6 to 10 p.m. today and 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland. A religious service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale. He is survived by his wife, Lupe Sweeney; sons, James Leslie Sweeney of Simpsonville, S.C., and Burl Thomas Sweeney of Dallas; daughters, Brenda Kay Hoffman of Clendenin, W. Va., Monita Liza Gonzalez of Queens, N.Y.; Martha Laura McHenry of Dallas and June Sweeney Brawley of Des Allemands; sister, Genevieve Johnson of Clendinin; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Cleo June Warbutton Sweeney. He was a U.S. Army medic in World War II. Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
