The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ================================ June 06. 2005 12:45PM Joseph Becnel [Photo] Joseph Eno Becnel, 79, a native of Vacherie and resident of Luling, died at 10:45 a.m. June 3, 2005. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Luling, with burial at St. Charles Cemetery. He is survived by his sons, Lyle and Pierre Becnel; daughters, Amanda Campbell, Lisa Becnel Edwards and Sarah Thigpen; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite Dupont Becnel; parents, Bernard Becnel Sr. and Aimee Steib Becnel; brothers, Bernard Jr., Pierre, Albert and Ray Becnel; and sisters, Marie Antoinette Reulet and Genevieve Labat. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony and a member of the VFW Post 3750 and American Legion of Luling. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations take the form of Masses said for Becnel.
