Louis Plaisance Sr.

Louis A. Plaisance Sr., 88, a native and resident of Cut Off, died May 31, 2005.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off. A 
Masonic service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Cut 
Off, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery.

He is survived by his sons, Johnny, Louis Jr. and Dean Plaisance Sr.; daughters, 
Joyce Toups, Louverda Kitchens, Lois Duet, Peggy Eymard and Dinah Duet; 20 
grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 25 step-great-
grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and 13 step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Esponge Plaisance; parents, Jules 
and Celeste Gaudet Plaisance; three infant children; grandchildren, Jake Duet, 
Colette Eymard and Norman Guidry Jr.; brothers, Lucien Sr. and Alphonse 
Plaisance; sisters, Loncia Lefort Thibodaux and Elenora Guidry.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge NO. 427 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a 
Jerusalem Temple Shriner.

He enjoyed gardening and raising animals. He was a retired fisherman.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
