Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Olevia Robinson Cleveland of Raceland; sons, Morell Cleveland Jr., Raymond Cleveland Sr., Nelson Cleveland, Jerry Cleveland Sr., and Carl Cleveland of Raceland, Harold Cleveland of Houma, and Willie Cleveland of Thibodaux; daughters, Ora Rose of Thibodaux, and Elaine Cleveland of Baton Rouge; niece, Doris Sylvester of Raceland; brothers, Oscar Cleveland and Morris Cleveland of Raceland, and George Cleveland of New Orleans; sisters, Sedonia Cleveland and Lizzie Cleveland of Raceland; 32 grandchildren, and 43 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ada Cleveland; daughter, Cora Thomas; brother, Samuel Charles, sisters, Edna Cleveland, Evelina Wilson, and Lillian Cleveland; and grandparents, Samuel and Sylvia Lane. He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of arrangements.
